Frequently Asked Questions...
What is Chiropractic and how does it work?
Chiropractic is a healing art based upon manipulation of the spinal column to treat abnormalities in the nervous system.
Millions of messages travel from you brain, down the spinal cord and out to your organs and tissues. The signals sent back to
the brain confirm if your body is working right. Subluxations, improper position or motion of the bones of the spine can
interfere with this vital exchange of messages. This can be caused by everyday wear and tear, old injuries or even stress. This
spinal joint dysfunction may even be a source of irritation to your nervous system, causing pain and interference throughout
your body. By correcting spinal joint dysfunction, chiropractic care can help your body heal itself without drugs or surgery!
Common Conditions Chiropractic Can Help:
* Low Back Pain * Neck Pain * Asthma
* Whiplash * Sciatica * Fibromyalgia
* Headaches * Disc Problems * Scoliosis
* Knee Pain * Carpal Tunnel Pain * Stress
* Shoulder Pain * Sacro-iliac Pain * Disc Problems
How do you get Sublaxations?
Physical causes are slips, falls, accidents, repetitive motions and improper lifting.
Emotional causes such as grief, anger, and fear.
Chemical causes are alcohol, drugs, poor diet, and pollution.
Can Sublaxations clear up on their own?
Our hectic, stressful lifestyles are a constant source of subluxations. Our bodies have the ability to self correct many of these problems; such as
when we stretch and bend or sleep at night. When our subluxations aren't resolved by these methods, we need to visit a chiropractor!
Are Chiropractic adjustments safe?
Yes, chiropractic adjustments are safe. Studies have found that adjustments are remarkably safe for patients of all ages and
physical conditions. Chiropractic is non-invasive and based on natural methods that are safe, if not safer than invasive medical
treatments for the same problems.
Can I adjust myself?
No. Making your joints "pop" is not an adjustment. You may damage a joint with weakened muscles and ligaments by mobilizing it. Adjustments
are specific and takes years of education, training, and experience to master.
What does an adjustment feel like?
Most patients report a sense of well-being or calmness. Since repeated adjustments are necessary, if adjustments didn't feel good, patients
wouldn't return to finish their care. Chiropractors are experts at making adjustments feel good.
How many adjustments will I need?
The number varies with each patient and their individual needs and health goals. Many sense progress immediately and some within a week or
two of frequent visits. Minor, first time injuries can often be treated in just a few visits, while more serious problems may require more steady
visits over a period of time. Dr. Lee will suggest a regimen tailored for your specific problems and offer only treatment that is necessary.
Are patients adjusted in the same way?
No. Each patient's spine and regimen is different. There are 24 moving bones in the spine which can move in seven different directions, leaving a
wide variety of spinal patterns unique to each person. Our patients' care is custom tailored to fit their condition, age and health goals.
When will I feel better?
There are many factors that affect the healing process. How long have you had the problem? Are you keeping your scheduled appointments?
Are you following the doctor's recommendations? Many patients experience immediate relief. Within a short period of time, other patients sense
enough progress to warrant following the doctor's recommendation for their care.
